0. Free One-Hour Overview

The technology chasm between early adopters and the majority market

What's in it for me?

In this free one-hour webinar we take a brief look at each of the 16 sessions so you can decide which are right for you. They are mostly designed to be independent of each other but we've noted which are related on each session page to help you decide.

You can stream this free video from YouTube. Alternatively you can download the video (wmv, 45 MB) and slides (pdf, 5 MB) or add the session to your basket and check out (all of the sessions that you book - including the free overview - will then be available through 'My Webinars').

Topics covered

We'll spend 15 minutes on each of the main sections and then take questions before moving on to the next:

  • Strategy (2-5) - the five strategy webinars represent the basics of designing for usability. They include Visual Design for Usability, Navigation & Menu Design, SEO & Accessibility, Human Error, Messages & Feedback and Usability Evaluation.
  • Tactics (6-11) - these are more in-depth on specific topics including Card Sorting, Dynamic Web Pages, Web & Intranet Content, Advanced Users and Persuasive/Seductive Design.
  • Lean & Agile (12-16) - the lean and Agile sessions are more about process and how to make users the focal point of design. They include Making the Case for UCD (aimed primarily at usability and UX specialists), Integrating UCD & Agile, engaging the team with users through personas & design maps (part 1); use cases, user stories & scenarios (part 2); and conceptual models (part 3).

Who should attend

Most of the Guerrilla UCD webinars are intended for a broad audience:

  • Software and web developers
  • Webmasters
  • Line and project managers
  • Technical writers
  • Usability, user experience and interaction design professionals

What's included

The overview webinar is an hour long and includes audio/video recordings and a copy of the slides. Recordings will be available for download after the live session. All resources can be shared within your team.

If you are able to attend a live session, you will be able to ask questions using a chat facility. You can connect to the webinar over the internet, or in most countries use a local-dial phone number and follow the session using the slides. See About Guerrilla UCD for more details.
